This my meme for 's Total Drama Dictionary. Now these opinions are for how I feel right now, I'm sure by the end of the season at least one of these will change. And these are MY opinions. I know not everyone will agree with me, but if you can respect my opinions then I'll respect yours. It's all I'm really asking for.
This meme contains spoilers to the latest Dictionary chapter. If you are not up to date, then please leave and come back when you are all caught up.
Favorite Character: Isaac and Maxwell. I really like Isaac's story arc over the course of the season. He starts out a shy (and that's an understatement) kid who barely says ten words at a time. After he's found out for liking to sew and people accept that he begins to open up. He becomes more confident in himself and he grows as a person because of it. By the end of his run for the show he's turned into a confident young man who can stand up for himself again.
Maxwell I know is more of a secondary character, but he still made it far regardless. He's a character who has my interest piqued. He has an interesting backstory and I'd kind of like to see it develop a bit more. I'd also like to see more of Maxwell's interactions, because he interacts with people similar to how I would. He's nice and polite and a hero, but gives time for others to shine. He's someone I definitely have my eye on.
Hated Character: Peter. There are a few villains in Dictionary, but none of them annoy me quite like Peter does. Peter represents all the annoying COD fanboys you'll find on YouTube and the internet in general. He's rude, mean, and completely close-minded to anything that isn't a "real video game". Even Danny isn't this bad, and has shown he can be nice at rare times. Peter's just a straight douche who I just can't stand. And Peter, you've got five seconds before I jump in that box and beat the shit out of you!
Most Surprising Character: Selena. I thought Selena would never change and that she would stay hating nerds forever. That has changed recently with the revealing of her backstory. She was a nerdy kid who was picked on for being so. Now a certain contestant met her when they were younger and helped her feel better, though Selena forgot about this. Though now that she has remembers this she's vowed to be nicer to geeks everywhere. What a positive thing to do girl. Keep it up!
Cutest Character: Hannah and Vikki. I find Hannah to just be super adorable. I think it's her general happy attitude towards life. She's always there to bring smiles and she defends those who can't do so themselves. She's pretty selfless for someone who's 11, but she makes up for it with her spunk. Hannah is a good example (to me) of a kid character who can be in the spotlight but not get annoying.
Vikki is just so damn cute! I think it's the fact that she's a clown because I love clowns. They're usually so much fun in fiction, even if they are used as something to fear. Vikki is super nice and tries her best to not be a stereotypical scary clown. It works because she gains a best friend in Omelette and a bunch of other friends. She's just all around a fun character.
Most Robbed Character: Luka and Ross. I feel like Luka could have at least made it to the Final 10. She was someone I really enjoyed watching, even if she wasn't always the most prominent character. She was an eco-friendly punk, don't think I've seen one of those before, and she had parents who were the exact opposite. Unlike her parents, she was humble about her riches and rarely if ever brought it up. Her group the Peaceful Paws is one of the best bonds of sisterhood this fic has, and I hope to see more of them and Luka in the future.
Ross is an alien fanatic. I figured Rosswell, New Mexico is one of the places he'll want to visit. But in all seriosuness, Ross is very wakward. Both around his crush and others in general, he's a really big dork. I find that so endearing, because being dorky, not nerdy or geeky, is usually portrayed with being a butt monkey. Ross proves that someone can be dorky and still get the girl and make it moderately far. I applaud Ross for that.
Funniest Character: Ethan and Omelette. Ethan is a cloudcuckoolander who sometimes lives in the bumbling madness of his mind. Yes, I just quoted the Nostalgia Critic, but this honestly describes Ethan pretty well. He's a daydreamer who isn't always there, though his heart is. He initially had a thing for Jeanette, and when that fell through he gained feelings for Yuki. I like how his relationship developed and I think his daydreams are so funny because they tend to be a bit random while at the same time being relevant. Ethan is funny, plain and simple.
Omelette is a perfect example of someone who gained a larger fanbase than was intended. In early chapters you can clearly see she was written as filler. She had a few lines, but nothing to really establish her as a character outside of her photophobia. But over time her popularity grew, and so did her character. It was eventually revealed she is Bi and likes looking at other peoples butts. I don't why this is so funny to me, it might be because I'm a pervert, but Omelette just brings a smile to my face every time she speaks.
Who I Want to Win: Bob. I feel like for someone who is 11 Bob has gone through a lot in his life. He was abused and mistreated by his parents until child services took him away from his family and he was put into an orphanage. There he met Tina and soon started to gain a bit of confidence in himself. Over the course of the season, I've seen Bob evolve from a scared, somewhat shy little boy into someone who can stand up for himself if need be. He's grown up since stepping onto the dock.
Who I Think Will Win: Yuki. I feel like Yuki has the best shot at winning. She's a major character while still giving others the spotlight, she's had to overcome obstacles, and she's faced adversity in her greatest foe. She defeated a bully who caused her years of torment and scored herself a man while doing it! She's creative and friendly and always there to lend a helping hand to those who need it. I think she's got a pretty good shot at taking home the prize.
Favorite Couple: Isaac/Whitney and Maxwell/Tina. I'm pretty sure I'm biased but whatever. I really like how Whitney and Isaac grew closer as the season went on. It started out as just casual conversations, but then it started to grow. Isaac had to choose either to let go or to move on but not forget. He chose the latter and it was only a matter of time before he and Whitney got together. They are a sweet couple who bring out the best in each other. Isaac gets Whitney to be a bit more catious, and Whitney helps Isaac break out of his shell more. I wish these two the best with their relationship
Still biased here. Maxwell and Tina have been hinted at pretty much since the beginning of the season. It took them a while to get together, but the result is something I enjoy a whole lot. While Maxwell was pretty much infatuated with Tina by episode 3, it took Tina a bit longer to start reciprocating his feelings. Though the real thing that got me was when Selena posed as Maxwell to try and get Tina medivacked. Maxwell sacrificed his manga for her, even if they weren't in there at all. That proved to me that these could go the distance, and will stay together for a long, long time.
Selena's change surprised me, but I'm glad she did change.
It took me for a loop as well, but it all worked out for the best.
